About YourDNP

YourDNP was created by a current DNP-FNP student to provide practical, evidence-informed support for nurses navigating graduate school and the transition to advanced practice.

I am a Minnesota-licensed Registered Nurse with experience in emergency nursing, intensive care, progressive care, and community-based outreach. Nursing is my second career. Before entering healthcare, I worked in finance, and my path into nursing progressed from CNA to phlebotomist, LPN, and RN before beginning doctoral education.

That path has given me firsthand experience balancing work, school, clinical responsibilities, professional growth, and life outside of nursing. It has also shown me how much easier graduate education becomes when reliable information, useful tools, and clear guidance are easier to find (and free).

YourDNP brings those resources together in one place. The site focuses on the areas DNP-FNP students routinely encounter, including coursework, evidence-based practice, clinical rotations, DNP projects, certification preparation, career development, and the transition into the nurse practitioner role.

The resources here are intended to complement faculty guidance, preceptor instruction, program policies, and established clinical references. As the site grows, the focus will remain the same: practical resources that help DNP-FNP students stay organized, strengthen their clinical and scholarly skills, and move through their programs with greater direction.
